Breastfeeding Clothes, Where to Begin?

The attire choices a breastfeeding mom has these days are staggering. Truly, whatever the style you favor, you can find it at a local store or with the click of the mouse.

Whether you dress exclusively in casual attire and comfortable clothes or prefer to be a little snazzier with business casual or beyond, there is a company out there that makes what you are looking for. It seems almost any style of clothing can be adapted tastefully to a nursing shirt. There are so many nursing bras on the market, it's hard to know where to begin. You can choose the nursing tank top (or, referred to commonly as the camisole, or cami). Then, there is the nursing shirt, the term which encompasses anything from a t-shirt to a polo to a tunic to a corduroy button-up to a blouse to a turtleneck. There's the athletic wear to choose from as well, including fleece hoodies designed for the breastfeeding mom. In addition, there are both casual and dressy sweaters and dresses that are made to accommodate nursing mothers. If you find that you are in the water, either for recreation or for work, there is swimwear that you can purchase to make breastfeeding a breeze. And the list doesn't end when the day ends. Nighttime brings a whole host of new challenges. Hence, the nursing nightgown, in as many styles as you can imagine.

With this amazing variety of clothing to choose from comes quite a number of ways to discreetly breastfeed your baby. With most shirts, the layered approach is utilized, designed for tactful nursing. These shirts have the appearance of having a tank underneath with some sort of coverage on top, allowing the mother to remain modest with the amount of skin she shows. There are others that have openings or slits for the baby to easily access the breast. Either way, Mom is happy not to give the world a peep show.
