Nursing moms must wear nursing shirts everyday. Why not actually like the way they look on us?
Nursing shirts
Oh, how far we have come
The days of shapeless, tent-like nursing shirts are over. These shirts of the past have been replaced by stylish, comfortable, and sexy ones that mothers no longer dread, but love to wear.
You can find nursing shirts virtually everywhere: in department stores, specialized maternity stores, discount retailers, and all over the Internet. The options you have are limitless, in terms of fit, fashion, look, and price. Included in these choices are nursing short-sleeve shirts, tunics, button-up shirts, tank tops, kimono shirts, t-shirts, and sweatshirt hoodies; the list goes on and on.
There is also a great variety of nursing openings for these shirts. They range from the empire opening, where the empire layer lifts to access nursing openings just underneath. There is the all-around opening where the top layer lifts to access nursing openings in an all-around under-layer. This would be typical of t-shirt types of shirts where there is no visible slit or entrance on the top layer of the shirt. There is also the single center opening, where access is gained through the vertical single center nursing opening through princess seams on either side. In addition, there is the popular cross-wrap opening, allowing the mother to pull aside the wrap layer to access nursing openings in the layer just beneath. With most shirts, the layered approach is used, designed for discreet nursing. This ensures that mom's extra skin isn't out there to show the world. I know that all moms are grateful for that.
